  • Cali, October 7th, 2025. From October 6 to 10, a business mission led by Invest Pacific is visiting Switzerland and Germany to promote Valle del Cauca’s strengths and investment potential across key sectors.

With the support of ProColombia’s office in Germany and the Embassy of Colombia in Switzerland, the mission will begin in Zurich and Lausanne, where it will meet with executives from companies considering nearshoring operations in Latin America, particularly in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and metalworking industries.

The delegation will then continue to Frankfurt and Düsseldorf (Germany), where it will attend the K Fair—the world’s leading trade event for the plastics, packaging, and innovative materials industries. The fair brings together more than 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and expects to attract around 230,000 specialized visitors.

Participation in this prestigious fair will allow the mission to highlight Valle del Cauca’s advantages as a Latin American hub for sustainable packaging and advanced manufacturing, while fostering discussions with global companies interested in circular innovation and next-generation materials.

“Valle del Cauca is emerging as a natural nearshoring destination for European companies, thanks to its logistics connectivity, skilled talent, and competitive costs compared to other markets,” said Mauricio Concha, Investment Director at Invest Pacific, who will lead the delegation. “The department’s strategic proximity to the U.S. market, Pacific access, tariff benefits, and strong logistics infrastructure further strengthen its position,” he added.

The mission will also explore collaboration opportunities with major European pharmaceutical companies, leveraging the region’s strengths in biotechnology, healthcare, and medical device manufacturing.

    A Strong and Growing Relationship

Germany and Switzerland have become two of Valle del Cauca’s most solid European partners, with 30 active investment projects totaling more than USD 138 million and generating close to 1,000 high-quality jobs across manufacturing, agribusiness, energy, and global services. These projects account for 8% of all international investments established in the department.

Currently, 18 Swiss and German companies operate in Valle del Cauca, located in Cali, Palmira, Yumbo, Buenaventura, Tuluá, Bugalagrande, and Pradera, across industries such as advanced manufacturing, agribusiness, logistics, renewable energy, and global services.

Swiss companies with a presence in Valle del Cauca include Nestlé, Lafarge-Holcim, Ameropa, Sika, SGS, Impact Finance, Garaventa Lift, and Endress+Hauser. German firms currently established in the region include DHL, Bayer, Tesa Tape, Conttigo Consulting and Services, OptiBelt, Care Design, Blomqvist Design, Menshen, Leschaco, and Hella Forvia.

Invest Pacific invites the business community to follow the outcomes of this mission, which aims to open new avenues for investment and collaboration between Europe and Valle del Cauca.
