In the last years in Colombia a record has been registered in the sale of new housing, on plans or pre-construction, which will generate an increase in the future demand for construction materials. In Valle del Cauca the development of the construction sector has had an accelerated growth. According to figures from the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure, the region is the second in the country with the most housing units sold.
The licensed area for construction has also grown significantly, representing a great opportunity for the development of housing solutions. Between 2020 and 2022, the area with construction permits increased 29.3%, going from 16.8 million square meters to 21.7 million square meters.
All of the above is added to the strong business network that the region has, both national and foreign companies, such as Lafarge Holcim, Eternit, Cemex, Pavco and in the case of national companies: Cementos Argos, Ladrillera San Benito, Sidoc, Aluminia, Impadoc, among other important companies.
