To strengthen this resource in assisting international markets there are bilingual training initiatives. The program GO CALI has benefited more than 4,500 people between 2014 and 2016. It focuses on students and teachers from different educational institutions in Cali and is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office.
The sector has grown and it will continue growing, since clusters such as PACIFIC TIC and PACIFICSHORE support companies settled in the region with digital innovation and transformation as an asset growth opportunity to be at the at the forefront thus allowing companies to obtain further income from their outsourcing operation.
Very much by the hand of outsourcing industries are the connectivity initiatives from the municipality such as the 36 centers belonging to the ICT all enabling the community to integrate to digital transformation.
The integrated municipal network covers the city with more than 800 kilometers of optic fiber, designed to empower and service the locals. By 2018, this connectivity will transport information without territorial borders, communicating, enhancing data and making it possible for Cali to be a pioneer smart city in Colombia.
