Newsletter 44 – Ortobras was awarded for its high commitment to inclusion in sports

Invest Pacific attended the ceremony in which Ortobras, a Brazilian company headquartered in Cali for the past 9 years, received an award.

Brazilian company Ortobras obtained the decoration in the KNIGHT’S CROSS GRADE by ‘Consejo de la Orden Independencia Vallecaucana’ of the Departmental Assembly. The ceremony was held at the Departmental Assembly of Valle del Cauca, in recognition of their contributions to the departmental and national economic growth, and especially for their high commitment to inclusion in sports.

The ceremony was attended by Colombian Paralympic athlete Mauricio Valencia, brand ambassador, gold medal winner in javelin throw at the Para-athletics World Championship held in Peru in 2019, silver medal at the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 and world record holder for javelin throw at the Paranational Games Colombia 2018.

Ortobras is a healthcare company with over 40 years of experience in the disabled patients field located in the city of Cali, and is dedicated to creating welfare through the manufacture and marketing of motorized, manual, folding, neurological and sports wheelchairs.

“Having foreign companies doing business in Valle del Cauca that are so committed to offering equal opportunities to our citizens fills us with pride. Ortobras has been a great national sports ally, and this award is another sign of gratitude from the Valle del Cauca people to a company that truly makes a difference,” said Mauricio Concha, Invest Pacific’s manufacturing sector investment manager.

From the beginning, Invest Pacific has supported the company in its establishment and development process in the region. As of today, Ortobras has been able to fulfill its operational requirements, which are aimed at delivering quality products and thus helping to make people’s lives easier and better.

In order to serve the entire Colombian territory and the Latin American market from Cali, Ortobras established a manufacturing and assembly plant with capacity to produce approximately 1,500 wheelchairs per month, and they have been recognized and certified as a national brand for the high quality of their products. Likewise, they are the leading wheelchair and technical aids manufacturer for people with disabilities in Colombia.
