Invest pacific holds its VII general assembly with excellent outcomes
The founders, contributors, members of the council and special guests of Valle del Cauca’s investment promotion agency, Invest Pacific, met on Thursday March 1st at the Intercontinental hotel in Cali. These private and public agencies of the region were introduced to the scope and obtained achievements in terms of investment attraction, arrival of new companies and job generation on 2017, during the 8th Regular Assembly of the organization.
A year in which Invest Pacific attracted 17 investment and reinvestment projects to the region, that represented investments of USD 109 million and 1.197 new jobs. These investments came from countries like France, Spain, Brazil, United States and Chine among others. Settling in different municipalities in Valle del Cauca and North of Cauca like Buga, Jamundí, Trujillo, Caloto, Cali, Palmira and Yumbo.
Another important achievement obtained during the Assembly was the work done to improve upon the perception of safety in Cali at an international level, where travel warnings from Spain and South Korea decreased, incentivizing the arrival of visitors and companies from these countries.
Another important moment to highlight was the familiarization trip, this was an event that took place last November to position and promote foreign direct investment in the region. During the Fam-Trip we received a delegation of 45 people, known as “investment decision influencers”, from 25 strategic countries. They assessed the experience we offered them with a favorability of 97%, a very positive result for these type of events.
This year the agency will continue concentrating on these strategic sectors with growth potential in the region, like agroindustry, renewable energies, logistics, metal mechanics and the automobile sector, ITO-BPO-KPO, personal and home care, pharmaceutics and manufacturing.

We are convinced that our department is the best place to invest in, that’s why we work passionately and with a sense of ownership in order to attract the best opportunities for the region this 2018.
