The solid infrastructure and connectivity offered by Valle del Cauca with Colombia’s main port located on the Pacific Ocean, Buenaventura, will be the key to be showed to 25 members of the APEAM, Mexican Association of Avocado Producers Exporters and Packagers, as also the competitive advantages of investing in the region.

The delegation will be in Valle del Cauca from May 4th to May 5th, with the support of Procolombia, searching for new investment opportunities. Invest Pacific will accompany this strategic visit in Buenaventura, where you will have the chance to meet the TCBUEN, Buenaventura’s Container Terminal which holds one of the most modern export cargo consolidation warehouses in the country. They will also meet with representatives of Buenaventura’s Chamber of Commerce who will introduce the business dynamics of the city.

APEAM has over 20 years of experience and has been recognized as the largest Mexican avocado exporters, promoting its consumption in countries like the United States, Canada, Japan and China with the brand, “Avocados From Mexico”. It is expected for them to arrive in Colombia soon, a country which has a growing market potential for that sector.

The visit to Valle del Cauca will end on Saturday May 5th with after going to the avocado producing zones and Pacific Fruits, a Colombian company dedicated to the commercialization of hass avocado and pineapple, in order to obtain knowledge of how the fruit sector in Colombia works.

The most recent agricultural endeavor that arrived in the region was Agrogénesis, a Peruvian company leading the production of seedlings for fruits and vegetables which opened operations in Trujillo, Valle on September 2017 and it is expected to begin selling avocado seedlings.

Invest Pacific highlights the importance of this visit because it shows the interest that foreign companies have on the agricultural potential of the region and directly shows its competitive advantages. One more reason to feel proud of the business, agricultural and productive potential of the department.
